【摘要】:GuidelinesareprovidedfortheprocedurestoevaluateexistingSSGinstallations,includingtwo-andfour-sidedinstallations.Duetotheunlimitedrangeofmaterialsthatmaybeusedinaparticularbuilding,theinformationcontainedinthisguideisgeneralinnature.ForadiscussionofnewSSGinstallations,refertoGuideC1401.Typicalconditionsarelistedthatmightbediscoveredduring,orsuggesttheneedfor,suchevaluations.Guidelinesarealsosuggestedfortimestoperformevaluations.Theseguidelinesarealsonecessarilygeneral.Professionaljudgmentofaqualifiedpersonshouldbeusedindeterminingtheappropriatetimetoperformanevaluationonaparticularbuilding.Thisguideshouldnotbetheonlyreferenceconsultedwhendeterminingthescopeofaproposedevaluation.Forexample,thelocalbuildingcodeandthemanufacturers''productliteraturefortheactualmaterialsused(ifknown)shouldalsobeconsidered.Thisdocumentisnotasubstituteforexperienceandjudgmentinassessingtheconditionofthespecializedtypesofconstructiondiscussed.1.1Itisrecommendedtoperiodicallyevaluatetheexistingconditionofstructuralsealantglazing(hereinaftercalledSSG)installationsinsitutodetectproblemsbeforetheybecomesevereorpervasive.EvaluationofexistingSSGinstallationsarerequiredbycertainbuildingcodesandlocalordinances.Thisguideprovidesaprogramtoevaluatetheexistingconditions,liststypicalconditions,whichmightbefound,andsuggeststimeswhensuchevaluationsareappropriate.Thecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyanyotherorganizations.
