【摘要】:Thesamplingandinspectionprescribedinthisstandardaffordthepurchaserapracticallevelofqualityassuranceonincomingmaterial.Theyarebasedoncost/riskrelationshipsconsideredtypicalforpreformedthermalinsulationsofferedforgeneraluse.Inallcases,thepurchasershouldreviewthisstandardanddetermineitssuitabilityintermsofhisspecificneeds.Thisprocedureisintendedprimarilyfortheinspectionofacontinuingstreamoflots,andthereisnotahighprobabilityofrejectingoccasionalofflots.Consumerprotectionisbasedoneconomicpressureontheproducer,throughgreaterriskoflotrejection,tomaintaintheprocessaverageat90%conformanceorbetter.OperatingcharacteristiccurvesforthesamplingplansemployedcanbefoundinPracticeE2234,TableX-CthroughTableX-F.Itisnottheintentofthisproceduretoestimatelotquality,controlthequalityofproduction,relievethesupplierofresponsibilityforthequalityofmaterialoffered,ordeterminethedispositionofmaterialfoundtobedefectiveafterreceiptbythepurchaser.1.1Thisstandardprovidescriteriaforestablishingtheacceptabilityoflotsofshipmentsofpreformedboard,preformedblockandpipe,andbattsandblanketthermalinsulationbasedonsamplingandinspection.1.2ThisstandardisintendedforuseinconjunctionwithappropriateASTMmaterialspecificationsthatclassifyanddescribethespecificphysicalrequirementsfortheproductintermsofqualificationrequirementsandinspectionrequirements.Determinationofnonconformityshallbebasedonthetolerancesforindividualsampletestvaluesprescribedinthematerialspecification.1.3Thisstandardmayrequireinspectionsubstantiallydifferentfromthatperformedinthenormalcourseofproduction.Ifthepurchaserrequiressamplingandacceptanceinspectioninaccordancewiththispractice,heshallsospecifyintheorderorcontract.1.4Thevalesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
