【摘要】:Thistestmethodoutlinesaprocedurewhich,whenappropriateevaluationmethodsareadded,canbeusefulinthedevelopmentofnewproductsorintheselectionofproductstobeusedincontactwithaparticularslagcomposition.Agradientexiststhroughthetestspecimensthatiscontrolledbythethermalconductivityofthespecimensandbackupmaterial.Theslagisconstantlyrenewedsothatahighrateofcorrosionismaintained.Theflowoftheslagcancausemechanicalerosionofmaterials.Thetiltandrotationalspeedofthefurnacewillaffecttheamountofmechanicalerosion.Usecautionininterpretingresultswhenmaterialsofvastlydifferenttypesareincludedinasinglerun.Caremustbetakentopreventoxidationofcarbon-containingmaterialsduringheatup;failuretodosocanresultinhighlyerraticresults.Areferencerefractoryspecimen,orspecimens,shouldbeusedforcomparison.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforcomparingthebehaviorofrefractoriestotheactionofmoltenslaginarotatingtestfurnace.Areferencematerialshouldbeincludedineachtestandrunforcomparison.Nonumericresultsareobtainedfromthistestmethod.Numericevaluationoftestresultsistheresponsibilityofthetestoperator.ThetestandequipmentarepatternedafteramethoddevelopedbyValleyDolomiteCorporation.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
